A rich and savory baked Greek dish is on your menu for tonight. Pastisio is a baked pasta entrée, that has both a creamy parmesan béchamel sauce and meaty tomato sauce. The tomato meat sauce is made up of ground beef and lamb, minced onion, garlic and stewed tomatoes then it is seasoned with oregano, cinnamon, thyme and oregano. The béchamel sauce has eggs mixed into it, so as the pastisio baked the pasta and the sauces bind together. Each bite is creamy and meaty. We paired a Greek tabbouleh to go along with the pastisio made up of minced parsley, bulgur, chopped tomatoes, feta, scallions, olives, diced cucumber, and mint all dressed in a lemon vinaigrette. This maybe too much food for one seating, but at least you have lunch covered.
