Celebrate the New Year with our soup version of hoppin’ john. Yes, our collard greens and black eyed pea soup is our homage to the South. The soup starts out diced onions, celery, carrots, collard greens and garlic being sautéed in bacon. Next we add in home-made chicken stock and diced tomatoes; then bring the soup to a simmer.  Once the collards are tender, cooked black eyed peas are added and the soup is seasoned thyme and red pepper flakes. Each spoonful is packed with Southern love. Be sure to serve a the soup with a slice of your favorite bread.
