Chicken with Harissa Chickpeas with Gingery Creamed Kale and Cabbage

Tonight we have pan roasted chicken thighs served with harissa spiced chickpeas cooked in a tomato and onion base. Harissa is a spice blend with a tomato base made up of red pepper, cumin, coriander, onion, caraway, crushed red pepper and lemon. The harissa adds so much depth to the dish and it pairs wonderfully with the gingered creamed kale and cabbage. The kale and cabbage are slowly cooked in cream and buttermilk sauce seasoned with fresh ginger and turmeric. Together these two dishes will make you think you are dining in Gibraltar or Marrakesh. This meal is ideal to have for a zesty lunch or light dinner.
