Chicken with Apples, Mushrooms and Calvados with Sage and White Cheddar-Mashed Potatoes

You are one click away from a French-inspired chicken meal. We took inspiration from all of the fall flavors in Normandy. Pieces of chicken are sauteed with shallots, garlic, mushrooms and sliced apples, then deglazed with calvados. Next we add chicken stock and apple cider; then season the braise with caraway seeds and red pepper flakes. The chicken slowly cooks until it is fork tender. Serve the chicken with the stewed apples and mushrooms a top th sage and white cheddar mashed potatoes. What a duo to savor during apple picking season.
