Barbecue season is knocking on the door and we are sure many of you have already begun. So, it is time to get excited for this Asian-style barbecue chicken meal. The chicken is seasoned with brown sugar, five-spice powder, salt and pepper before it is char grilled. Right before the chicken is done being grilled, it is glazed with an hoisin barbecue sauce made up of fresh ginger, garlic, hoisin, five spice, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil. This sauce is a touch sweet and packed with flavor which makes it perfect with the chicken. You needed some vegetables to go along with your BBQ we we paired a broccolini and mushroom salad. Blanched broccolini is tossed with sliced fresh button mushrooms; then dressed in a zippy sesame sauce. This dressing is made up of soy sauce, cider vinegar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, red pepper flakes and minced garlic. The ideal duo for dinner on the deck.
